When fixing a faucet make sure the drain in the sink is plugged. This is a demonstration on how to repair a crane faucet in a bathroom.it is an easy project to tackle for the average do it yourselfer. A little tip here can save you a headache with this project.
moen cartridge installation for a bathtub or shower .Few tips …not a big job diy….Moen is the best faucet on the market as far as I am concerned. They guarentee their cartridges for life…You can pick a cartridge up where ever Moen is sold at no charge.
A simple way to change a moen cartridge. It is not a difficult task to do. Your bathtub faucet is exactly the same way to change if you are installing a 1225B cartridge as this one is. The posi-temp cartridge is 1222 and moen guarentees them for life. I pick mine up at any hardware store. See the manager if there is a problem getting one. Moen is as far as I am concerned the best faucet on the market…bar none
Removal of the aerator does not help. No one touched the supply valves, the other faucets have normal flow, all pipes are copper. Flow was normal for the first year or two. This time of year the supply water is much colder than it has been, but well above freezing. Should I disassemble the faucet and look for anything? Some adjustment?
I apologize now that I see the question is ambiguous. The flow has already reduced, I am not hasing how to reduce it. Sorry!
My kitchen faucet made a loud thump while i was washing dishes and now i only have half the water pressure. All other faucets in the house work fine and pipes are not frozen. This faucet is the kind that pulls out and can be used as a sprayer . IT has a single handle that lifts up for more pressure and left to right for hot and cold.Any idea what might have happend or how to fix?
Here’s My Kitchen sink model: http://www.pricepfister.com/Support/Faq/50160000000IGXcAAO.aspx
2 weeks ago my kitchen sink started leaking from the top of the handle on the hot water pipe. So, as suggested by Price Pfister, I replaced the cartridge. However, that did not stop the leak. It still leaks from the hot water pipe near the top of the handle. Furthermore, I am having a hard time removing the whole handle due to pipes and disposal in the way. Should I just replace the whole faucet system?
I just bought my house and discovered when I turn my hot water on in the kitchen it runs cold. I turned on my dishwasher and the water flowing to it is cold also. My house was built on a slab so i cant see the pipes or gain access to them. I also turned the water on and shut off the water from under the sink thinking it was the faucet but when the hot water was shut off the flow to the sink stopped. Please help.
I have a cheap kitchen faucet (I think it’s a Living Home or Glacier Bay) 2 handle faucet with sprayer that makes a banging noise, rattles the pipes, and sputters a little when first turned on, and occationally while it’s running. It sounds like air in the line, but I do NOT have a problem with any other fixtures in the house. I have pulled the diverter, and there wasn’t any debris in it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be and how I can fix it without changing the whole faucet?
The problem happens when I use the faucet, not when I use the sprayer. Does that still sound like the spring and valve in the sprayer?
When I first hit the switch for the sprayer it does sound like air is being released.
Looks as if (it has happened before) the pipes that face the backyard in my basement may have frozen. I dont know how to keep this from reocurring, but one plumber has replaced 2 kitchen faucets before, when the pipes froze. He told me the faucet cracked from beneath. I once waited till the weather warmed up again and saw my previously non-working faucet work again afterward. What can I do besides call a plumber? Is there no other solution?
